Geno, life-long musician from Austin, Texas born in 1974, grew up in the renowned 78704 zip code surrounded by many legends like Rocky Erickson, Marcia Ball, and Jimmie & Stevie Ray Vaughan. Geno started playing piano and taking voice lessons at age 7 and later attended Austin High School, playing tuba in band & orchestra. He continued playing tuba in the Longhorn Band while earning his Bachelor of Music degree from University of Texas.
Geno is a native Austinite loved by all & known for his variety of music, impactful teaching, and zest for life.
In his many years of music, Geno has played in numerous bands, written songs, taught private lessons and in high school. He has directed & conducted many events, played gospel in church, preformed at weddings and private events, owned Gott Music Music Store, gone on tours, and recorded and released albums.
For his love of music Geno continues to play in bands, play gospel in church, directs & conducts events, and go on tours. He will release his new album early 2018.
Inspirations to Geno are Elvis, The Beatles, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, his father Mark Gottschall and Stevie Ray Vaghan.

Geno Gottschall is equally comfortable directing a symphony orchestra and 200 tuba players at TubaChristmas, playing his own tuba with New Orleans organ trio Gumbo Ya Ya, or fronting his own old school Rock n Roll band singing and playing guitar with His Rockaholics.
